Geomodeling Releases VisualVoxAt 6.0 Software - Introducing Synthetic Seismic
New features include Synthetics, Velocity Modeling, Color Cube, Spectral Decomposition, S-Transform, Strata-grid and More
(Calgary, Alberta – December 14, 2006) Geomodeling Technology Corp., a leading innovator in geoscience software for the oil and gas industry, today announced that it has released VisualVoxAt 6.0 software, introducing synthetic seismic to its robust list of features. VisualVoxAt is integrated software for seismic attribute generation, visualization, calibration, classification and interpretation.
"VisualVoxAt is really standing out in the crowd," says Murray Christie, Geomodeling’s Chief Operating Officer. "Our new features and enhancements in VisualVoxAt 6.0 are demonstrating our true commitment to innovation in our software arena."
VisualVoxAt 6.0 has many new features and enhancements including velocity modeling, color cube, S-transform, spectral balancing, and strata-grid designed to improve interpretation functions, and explore relationships between multiple attributes.
Used to interpret the seismic response of the earth, synthetics compare marker beds selected on well logs with major reflections on the seismic to improve and refine interpretations. The new synthetic module allows you to simultaneously calibrate hundreds of wells to seismic data with precision and ease-of-use.
The velocity model consists of multiple velocity slices or velocity surfaces. The procedure is to first create velocity surfaces, then create a velocity model. Once the velocity model is created, you can analyze it directly or use it to convert surfaces or strata-grids from the time domain to the depth domain.
Geomodeling’s Color Cube feature blends 3D attributes to allow a better understanding of the relationships between multiple attributes. Conventional methods that only examine one attribute at a time may not show the full prospect. By combining multiple attributes in a single correlation display, you can easily identify which relationships may lead to hydrocarbon indicators. The color cube can be created for a full volume or for a strata-grid.
The S-transform introduced in 6.0 enhances the thin-bed detection by a time and frequency dependent window to better estimate local spectrum. The user can now apply Spectral Balancing on an Iso-Frequency cube. This function scales or normalizes the seismic energy of different frequency cubes. Therefore, if the amplitudes at two different frequencies are different, spectral balancing will average the amplitudes or energies so that they can be compared.
All new features in the VisualVoxAt 6.0 release include:
- Synthetic Seismic
