Geomodeling Releases SBED 2006 Version 1 Software at AAPG's Annual ConventionApril 10, 2006
New features include Project Template file management and New Petrophysical simulation parameters dialog creating added ease-of-use to SBED software
(Houston, Texas - April 10, 2006) Geomodeling Technology Corp., a leading innovator in geoscience software for the oil and gas industry, today announced that it has released SBED 2006 version 1 software at AAPG's Annual Convention, booth 1843. SBED is the only commercial software for modeling the small-scale geological heterogeneity that impacts large-scale reservoir performance.
SBED 2006 version includes many new features including; project template file management; template model image capture, assignment and preview, new petrophysical simulation parameters dialog, and export/import for project template contents - all designed for added ease-of-use.
Project Template file management has been redesigned to conform to Microsoft Window's file and folder management standards, creating a feature that increases the ease of use for the software user. File management in Project Templates allow you to create new folders and subfolders, rename folders and files, and move folders and models.
The template model image capture in SBED software has been retooled to allow the user to capture and assign an image. The image you capture is tagged to the template model listed in Project Template tab and previewed by placing your cursor over it.
Geomodeling has added a new petrophysical simulation parameters dialog in this version of SBED software. A new spreadsheet design now handles porosity and permeability parameters in the Petrophysical tab. Copy/paste functionality has been made easier and variogram and trend functions now reside in separate tabs within the Petrophysical tab.
This new Petrophysical tab has also been added to the Stacked Model simulation dialog as an individual tab. Reviewing and editing petrophysical input for individual submodels of the stacked model is easily accomplished. The models that are listed under the submodel column in the petrophysical tab now correspond to the ordered list in the Sequence View window. This adjustment allows for easier quality control on input parameters.
Exporting the entire contents listed in the Project Template tab is now easily achieved, or alternatively the user can also import these templates back into the current version, and subsequent versions that will be released. "Taking SBED software one step further by enabling our clients to maintain and develop their own organizational style while following their own everyday work pattern is adding to SBED's popularity," says Renjun Wen, Geomodeling President and CEO. "We will continue to focus on developing further ease-of-use functionality into our SBED software."
Other enhancements included in this release are:
Multi-phase Upscale Improvements
Faster Petrophysical Simulation Function
Removal of Meander & Sine Wave Channel Templates
Removal of Petrophysical tab for Individual Submodels in Stacked Model
