IT Technician

Geomodeling is a leading software development firm serving the world-wide energy industry. Our products are used by major oil & gas companies, independent oil & gas companies, and service companies world-wide to reduce uncertainty, and more accurately understand the subsurface in order to discover, measure, and extract existing and future energy resources.
We are currently seeking an IT Technician to work in our Calgary office.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain Windows based servers, create support tickets
• Provides senior support for desktop, network and server issues
• Installation, maintenance and support of desktop systems, printers, network equipment
• Installation and support of specialized Windows and Linux development software
• Document IT environment, equipment, processes and procedures
• Complying with all Company and departmental policies and procedures
Qualifications:
• Technical diploma – preferred
• Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Minimum of two years experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting,
and supporting the following is essential:
• Windows Servers 2003, Exchange Server 2003
• Antivirus and related security products (Symantec corporate products)
• Backup systems (such as Backup Exec)
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, Firewall technologies, etc)
• Ability to work Independently within a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mandarin communication (read/write) an asset
