Accountant

Geomodeling is a leading software development firm serving the world-wide energy industry. Our products are used by major oil & gas companies, independent oil & gas companies, and service companies world-wide to reduce uncertainty, and more accurately understand the subsurface in order to discover, measure, and extract existing and future energy resources.
We are currently seeking an Accountant to work in our Calgary office.
Responsibilities:
• Timely, accurate financial reporting
• Monthly journal entries
• Reconcile accounts
• Prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledger and prepare monthly consolidated financial statements
• Multi-company, multi-currency consolidations
• Liaise with foreign subsidiaries including monitoring and analysis
• Credit and collections
• Handle budget process
• Preparation of tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, and other government documents
• Prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports
• Develop company policies and processes
• Receivables invoicing
• Preparation and maintenance of client contracts
Qualifications:
• Business Administration Diploma with an Accounting Major
• Currently enrolled in CGA or CMA program
• Relevant work experience
• Detail oriented, good analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work Independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer software skills, specifically MS Office suite
• Mandarin an asset
