Technical Writer

Geomodeling Technology Corp., the leading innovator in geoscience software for the oil and gas industry, is looking for talented people to join its growing company.
Your writing skills will be second to none and you must show the ability to take complex geoscience technical information and communicate concepts and business direction clearly. The Technical Writer will assist with and be responsible for all written communications and will also be expected to assist in planning, brainstorming and idea generation. You must demonstrate creativity, take initiative, embrace a positive attitude and enjoy working effectively in a team. You are a self starter who is familiar with or adapts well to an entrepreneurial setting.
Accountabilities:
• Creating Software Manuals, online help documents, research papers, poster presentations and proposals
• Creating Training Course material with the assistance of other technical resources in the company
• Writing technical articles for publication
• Researching and preparing technical abstracts
• Preparing Technical Reports
• Reviewing Release Notes
• Creating technical collateral
• Creating and assisting with other technical documentation as required
Qualifications:
• A four-year degree in journalism or communications or the equivalent in education and experience
• 5-8 years experience as a technical writer
• Geoscience experience is an asset
• Capable of working efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with Microsoft office software and Macromedia Dreamweaver software
