Geomodeling is a leading software development firm serving the world-wide energy industry. Our products are used by major oil & gas companies, independent oil & gas companies, and service companies world-wide to reduce uncertainty, and more accurately understand the subsurface in order to discover, measure, and extract existing and future energy resources.
Geomodeling is poised for significant global growth and expansion. We are seeking a Product Manager in our Houston office to help us to drive this growth. The person selected for this position will have the unique opportunity to be part of a team building the next generation of energy products and services.
Responsibilities:
• Define the product strategy and roadmap
• Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
• Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
• Be an expert with respect to the competition
• Act as a leader within the company
• Build initial sales presentations and train the sales channel
Qualifications:
• Minimum 8 years previous experience as a Product Manager
• Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
• 15 years experience in the energy software market
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
• Strong Technical background
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• 10 years 2D / 3D seismic interpretation
We are looking for someone who is highly organized, has excellent time management skills, and is a demonstrated leader among employees. You are familiar with mis-tie correction, well tie, horizon picking, fault correlation, velocity estimation, and 2D mapping. You are experience building 3D models using industrial standard software, have a working knowledge of geostatistics, such as variogram modeling, kriging, and conditional simulations. Additional technical knowledge of seismic attribute algorithms, petrophysical interpretation of well logs, forward modeling of sedimentary process, fault modeling, and reservoir production simulation would be beneficial.
