Mike Odell

CEO
With a 35-year career track record, Mr. Odell has had progressive sales, marketing, operations, and executive positions in software and energy-based companies. He has been on management teams that rapidly grew software companies through the IPO process, and has led several significant acquisitions and divestitures.

Most recently, Mr. Odell was Vice President and General Manager, Energy Division, with MetaCarta, Inc., where he successfully developed the product line, positioning, and infrastructure needed to support the development of MetaCarta’s energy business. Mr. Odell was instrumental in developing the operational expertise to build this sector into a revenue generating business.

Prior to joining MetaCarta, Mike was President and CEO of Elumens Corporation, where he orchestrated a successful turnaround and increased the annual revenue by more than 800% in a four-year period. Hel was successful in re-capitalizing and re-branding the company, developing new generations of products, initiating and developing the sales channel including partnering with Fortune 500 companies, and raising three rounds of venture capital.

Mike has a strong success record at leading performing teams and driving top-notch sales and marketing organizations. Spending six years at Halliburton’s Sierra Geophysics, he led a major expansion that included opening offices in international locations capable of providing localized service and support for their large and growing customer base.

Mr. Odell’s career included three years as Vice President, Marketing and Business Development with Encompass Inc., where he was responsible for strategic market planning, and defining, pricing, positioning, and launching products. He also spent four years as President and CEO of Uniras, where he developed strong teams and tremendous revenue growth.


Renjun Wen

Founder, and Chief Technology Architect
In 1996, Renjun Wen created Geomodeling Technology Corp and introduced new, innovative geoscience software to the oil and gas industry. Wen is the original designer and programmer of SBED geological modeling technology and VisualVoxAt seismic interpretation software. He brings over 20 years of experience in the petroleum industry to the corporation, along with his passion for developing practical software solutions for fellow geoscientists.

Dr. Wen obtained a PhD in Petroleum Geology from Norwegian University of Science and Technology and a BSC from JianHan Petroleum Institute (Yanzhe University) in China. He has published over 30 research papers in the fields of reservoir modeling, mathematical geology and seismic interpretation and has collaborated with major oil companies to bring Geomodeling's software to international markets.


Murray Christie

Vice President, Innovation
Murray Christie joined Geomodeling in 2003 to expand the company's international activities. He established the Houston office that year and currently oversees the growing Marketing and Sales teams in Geomodeling's offices around the world.

Christie holds a BA in Economics and has over 10 years experience in the oil and gas, software and technical service industries. Prior to joining Geomodeling, Christie held various senior management positions in the E&P software industry, including Vice President (North America), President (Canada) and Director of Solutions Marketing (International) for Paradigm Geophysical. He has also held management positions in seismic and petroleum exploration and development companies.

Mark Klingbeil

Controller and Chief Financial Officer
Mark Klingbeil has been overseeing the financial affairs of Geomodeling's international offices since June 2005. He has over 20 years of extensive financial management and business administration experience with a wide variety of growing businesses. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, and received his CGA (Certified General Accountant) designation in 1983.

His work experience includes Controller, CFO, and GM roles in domestic and international geoscience software and services businesses. Prior to joining Geomodeling Technology Corp., he provided services as an independent business consultant to clients in the oil and gas exploration, manufacturing and advanced technology industries.


Donghai Zhuang

Chief R&D Geoscientist
Donghai Zhuang joined the Geomodeling Calgary office in 2001. He has more than 10 years of professional experience in seismic interpretation and software development, with expertise in seismic data processing and seismic attribute analysis.

Dr. Zhuang holds a PhD in Geophysics from China University of Geosciences in Beijing and has published papers in several journals specializing in oil and gas exploration. He has worked as a Geophysicist in China and USA, and is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (Tulsa).
